Thematic Lines

The First International Forum on Diversity and Interculturality will be developed around several central themes.
  • THE SOCIAL CONSTRUCTION OF INTERCULTURALITY
  • CITIZENSHIP AND RIGHTS: THE LEGAL-POLITICAL DIMENSION
  • SPACE AND DIVERSITY IN THE INTERCULTURAL CITY

The Advisory Committee will study these themes, which will give rise to plenary sessions. Any organizations that wish to participate in developing the activities to be scheduled for the Forum will be able to present proposals, which must be related to at least one of the central themes.

Once specific activities are approved and included in the programme, they will be developed by their proposers as possible subjects to be presented during the Forum in interactive sessions, panels, workshops, etc. The following areas may serve as guidelines.

The Forum's programme will include four categories of activities:
  • Plenary Sessions: the organizers will schedule three plenary sessions, one for each of the themes chosen, in accordance with the recommendations of the Advisory Committee.
  • Main conferences and roundtables: the organizers will schedule a framework conference and other spaces that are consistent with the themes and plenary sessions, in order to achieve the Forum's objectives.
  • Workshops, panels, interactive sessions and roundtables: these activities will be selected from among the ones presented relating to certain specific themes, as variations on one of the three major themes. Said activities may be self-managed, i.e., proposed and organized by the bodies or organizations invited to participate in the Forum or whose registration has been accepted beforehand.
  • Other modes of participation and activities: The Forum provides for the possibility of designing new forms of expression and intercultural/cross-cutting relations. These modes of participation should reflect cultural diversity and contribute to learning about others and to mutual respect among different peoples and cultures. These activities include exhibitions, virtual participation, intercultural artistic activities, etc.

All proposed activities or exhibitions will be submitted to the Advisory Committee for review, approval and scheduling.
